Curbside Recycling is coming to Wawota

96-gal-muni-blue-regensEffective May 2015 the Town of Wawota will begin Curbside Recycling through Regens Disposal Ltd. All residents will receive a blue cart, similar to the current carts being u sed for waste disposal. This will be a bi – weekly service, with pickup every second Monday. All acceptable recycling material will be placed in one cart. Acceptable recyclable material includes paper fiber materials, containers, and glass.

The Town of Wawota is excited to offer single stream recycling to our residents as it allows for simple and responsible recycling. The cost of this service will be approximately $7.00 to $10.00 per month. With successful recycling, future waste disposal service may a lso be changed to bi – weekly pickup which would reduce residential costs. The community green bins currently being used for recycling will be removed most likely the week of April 27, 2015. At this time each residential cart will be delivered. The first curbside recycling pickup will be Monday, May 11, 2015. Regens Disposal Ltd. will be contacting all commercial property owners to discuss their recycling options. In the near future, all Town of Wawota residents will be receiving more information on Curb side Recycling directly from Regens Disposal Ltd. If you have any questions or concerns after you have reviewed this information, please contact the Town Office or Regens Disposal Ltd. at 1-855-202-7209. More info on How To Recycle

Toner or Ink cartridges, laptops

Meals on Wheels

The Meals on Wheels program in Wawota is in need of a group, business or individuals who would be willing to help with this program for the month of February 2015. This is an essential community service that many individuals in our community rely on. If you would be interested in assisting with this program or have questions regarding it please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.
